Independence Day: After a huge struggle, Indians and India have got what it wants, the Independence. It has been 70 years since we got our Independence from the cruel and discriminating British Rule. The British not only destroyed India, they also have exploited Indians. They took away the freedom of speech, freedom of right. To the matter of fact, they have treated Indians as animals except for those Rich people and Kings of that time.
After 70 years of Independence, now people are enjoying the freedom to live without any discrimination. They are living without any fear for the better future. Most of the Indians in this 21st century might not know the value of the Independence, but it has come with a great sacrifice of thousands and lakhs of Indian Freedom Fighters. Because of them, now we are enjoying the right to live freely. Just imagine that you are beaten up for no reason, being robbed of your crop, misbehaving the household women, taking huge taxes, and what not. This might bring you chills down your spine but it was true.

This Independence for our country has got at a greater cost that this generation’s kid or an adult might not get it. The Independence took thousands of lives who stood for the other Indians. It might look exaggerating but the facts and the history will always tell you the true story. How we got our Independence, how the freedom fighters have sacrificed their lives just for the benefit of their motherland.
The first Independence struggle for India has started in the year 1857. Historians term this as 1857 Revolt or India’s First War of Independence. This was led by the then 29-year-old Mangal Pandey. After a long battle for over 90 odd years, in the stroke of midnight on 14th August (Practically 15th August) 1947, we got our Independence. On the same day, Pakistan and India have separated from each other. On that day we have become a Secular and Democratic country. This is the largest Democratic Country of the world.
There are many freedom fighters whom we should remember at this point. Prominent names among them are Mangal Pandey, Subhash Chandra Bose, Jhansi Laximibhai, Chandrashekar Azad, Sukhdev Thapar, Ashfaqulla Khan, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh, Mahatma Gandhi and many others. With all the efforts of these great people, we are now breathing the air of freedom.
Since this today is the Independence Day, we wish you all a Happy Independence Day.
